Hello fellow bloggers!
I have been blogging just over 2 months. I always wondered do you necessarily have to find a niche to blog about over time? I blog about anything and everything. I just recently started arranging my topics by series to create a better organization of content. I have so much that I want to add but I did not want it chaotic. I try to keep changes and updates on my About Me page.
To fellow writers, any blog suggestions that could help me move forward. I came across one that is like the Voice for writers. I am looking for others similar to that or different contests for short stories etc. I am going to start with the DP Writing Challenge which I hope to post soon. If you are a writer or poet, editor or however involved in writing, let me know. I want to read your posts.
Thanks for the visit. I look forward to hearing from you all 🙂

It’s useful and helpful blog.
Thank you! I really appreciate it.
So far, I like what I see. Arranging everything by topic is a good idea. Keep it up and welcome to the blogosphere!
Thank you! I appreciate it… I had to have a direction. I will be adding more content over time.
I share the sentiment as well. Writings do not have to be what the world wants to read, but about what I want to say. The onus would be on the world to read it, if it wants to. But that is an ‘arrogant’ take on writing- as many would say. Interestingly though, there are a lot of people who admire this line of thought… that blogging or litereature, if one feels adventurous enough to extrapolate, does not have to serve the public opinion/sentiment.
Looking forward to some insightful posts from you 🙂
I agree with you. When I first tell friends that I blog, they always ask what is the blog about. I find my answer too long and I thought maybe if I had a niche, I can make it short. I think I will work on my answer better because I like my blog as it is. Thank you… I’m following you, looking forward to being uncomfortable lol…
Many thanks,.
I can tell you that when I go to a blog, I like to know what I am getting into. I usually go to the about or home page first. I like yours because it tells me what your blog is about and what I can expect. I have no problem with an author putting many topics on their blog as long as they are organized in a way that I don’t feel like I am wasting my time looking for something I am not going to get. You have done a good job of that here and I look forward to seeing more.
Thank you! The About Me page was the suggestion of another blogger. I did not know how to create one. I ask for feedback in Community Pool from Daily Post… As for the content, I had to organize it or it would drive me nuts. Another blogger advised not to let readers “hang”, roaming with no direction. For criticism, I would go on my blog and pretend to be a random reader and wonder: Do I know why am I here? Can I find what attracted me? Is there a guide to posts? What is the purpose of this blog? Does the page look chaotic? It has helped me tremendously. I am happy you noticed. Thanks!!!

I don’t think I’ve found a niche yet… or maybe I wont ever. I just blog about stuff. I have about 15 categories I blog under. Basically I blog about my life and I have a lot going on in my life.
Welcome to the blog-o-sphere. 🙂
Thank you for the welcome! I have not found a niche and I’m happy to know I do not have to. The categories helped and thanks to you, I change one to include those I was unable to categorize lol… Thanks!!!
You’re welcome.
I’ve tried to pare down my categories, but it really hasn’t worked for me. 🙂 Too much stuff in my head. I ended up branching off to two new blogs, one for art/photography & one for fitness. I know I’m CRAZY. It’s ok though I’m harmless. LOL
I thought about branching but realized it would harder for me to keep up. I think I got it this time. We’ll see for how long do I feel this way lol… You sound like myself! I’m following you. I look forward to your posts.
Awesome. I just started following you too.
My other blogs don’t get as much attention as my primary one. I have co-authors for my fitness one so I don’t have to do all the work.
Happy Bloggin’!

Welcome to WP and blogging, Nadeen. As you’ve doubtless learned in the last two months, the world is wide. I personally like the idea of sharing the writing along with its process. I’m a huge fan of understanding process and using it to further the creativity. As Louise deSalvo says in “Writing as a Way of Healing,” ‘it’s not what you produce as you write that’s important; it’s who you become as you write that’s important.’ Looking forward to seeing who you discover yourself to be about as this project takes shape.
There are so many writing how-to blogs; and writing resource-sharing blogs. The one other thing you might want to find is a community of online writers to connect with and learn from. As a result of April 2012 Platform Challenge, one such community is http://www.wordpressstudio.org. LOTS of helpful and friendly folks over there. And good luck!
Hi and thank you! I have learned so much from here. I am becoming an even better writer. Is the site still up because I am suggested to go to other sites. Let me know know!
I have found that the best is to write on what interests you. In this way you connect with your writing – and people will connect with you through what you have written. The most important thing, I find, is to enjoy the experience.
This is what I have found so far. Thank you so much!
There’s http://trifectawritingchallenge.com, and http://alastairsphotofiction.wordpress.com/, and I do a “Prompts for the Promptless” challenge, too. I also started with YeahWrite.me — it’s pretty cool, too!
I do follow you! I will participate soon, summer is almost here. Sounds like fun! So many opportunities to be creative. I will be give them a try. Thank you so much!!!
