April 30 Daily Prompt: Art Appreciation

Do you need to agree with an artist’s lifestyle or politics to appreciate their art? To spend money on it?

You do not have to agree with an artist lifestyle or politics to appreciate their art or spend money on it. To a certain extent. Politics is a harder sell for me. Time and time again, I have heard that many talented artists are or were involved in drugs and alcohol. Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson are two of the most recent and tragic stories that came to mind. You can add numerous others to that list. Some others were affected by depression and committed suicide. Again, there are quite a few members of that club such as van Gogh

However, if it is a someone in currently in the news all the time, constantly in trouble with the laws, it takes me more to appreciate the art or spend my money on it. Example: Bobby Brown. Chris Brown (I do like his music but will not spend money on it).

What do you think about the art and lifestyle/politics?
