April 19 New Weekly Photo Challenge: Up

In a new post specifically created for this challenge, share a picture which means UP to you!

When you walk into the Science Center on campus, you can see all the flags hanging from the ceiling. Every time I walk in there, I think about all the brilliant inventors, innovators and researchers who came to the US and made it home. America is the land of opportunity. You can and you will succeed if you work hard every day and pursuit your goals. It is called the American dream.

In the light of the horrific events that recently affected the country, I wanted to share what I see when I look UP. These flags represent the diversity of all us Americans. We may come from different origins but this is our home. I came to the United States from another country. We pledge allegiance to the same flag, follow the same Constitution, have the same President. We serve our nation side by side and we die on the battle field together. We are America. When something happens to one of us, we all share the pain. What happened was indeed awful and sickening.

Boston, know that we got you. We will not live in fear. We will move on. We bleed with you, we will heal with you. So look UP, Boston. We are here. We ain’t going nowhere. Yes, UNITED we stand!

I always have fun with them. You can check out my other challenges here.
